In addition to the wide range of opportunities available via the Institute of Character & Leadership, staff at the Great Schools Trust are also provided with the following training opportunities:
Statutory Training
Delivered either face to face or via National College, covering critical areas of Safeguarding for Children, Cyber Security and Data Protection/GDPR. This is key training that needs to be completed by all staff. Where possible this will be completed at the start of the academic year with all staff completing this together.
National College
The National College is an eLearn training platform which provides training modules of all aspects of education. This is a comprehensive electronic learning platform, that hosts rich educational content and the ability to assess your knowledge based on the content that you have watched. It covers a broad range of topics and includes mandatory annual statutory training for all staff members working in the Trust.
Insights Discovery
Insights Discovery is a development tool based on Dr Carl Yung’s psychological model which considers 3 different functional areas of personality and how these differ in each one of us. It helps staff to understand their strengths and areas that would benefit from an additional focus. It examines how broader teams work together and how staff might alter or adapt their current practice.
Arbinger Training
Arbinger training is a leadership development programme to increase self-awareness. The programme utilises scenarios and tools to help staff gain an introspective approach that enables them to create an outward mindset. Often a change in mindset fundamentally shifts the impact and outcome of situations.
Continuous Profession Development (CPD)
Continuous Professional Development is fundamental to achieving excellence. Role-specific training and or cross-trust training occurs weekly. Trust-wide CPD sessions occur throughout the year, where all staff are encouraged to learn together.
Leadership Matters
Leadership Matters is an online platform that supports staff in considering their leadership styles It begins with 360-degree feedback from colleagues. This builds into a range of leadership modules supporting staff in their roles and increasing self-awareness.
