At Great Schools Trust we recognise that effective professional development is a core part of securing effective outcomes for our pupils. It cannot exist in isolation, rather it requires a pervasive culture of scholarship with a shared commitment for staff to support one another to develop so that pupils benefit from the highest quality teaching and care.

The thousands of professional decisions that must be made every day need to be informed by the best research evidence, knowledge and professional wisdom. In recognising the importance of this vital work, we have designed our Institute of Character & Leadership continuous professional development package to meet the needs of our staff at all career stages and continually adapt to the changing educational landscape we work in.  

The CPD packages are closely aligned with the ITT Core Content Framework, The National Standards for Professional Development and the National Standards for School-based ITT Mentors.
